There has always been a piano in my house. However, it wasn't until the spring of 1996 that I actually began formally playing the piano. I started out by taking lessons from the pianist/organist at my church, but soon outgrew her training. Soon after my parents and I sought out a more professional teacher.
When I turned twelve I switched piano instructors, and for the next six years I remained under the strict instruction of Edith Sullivan. During my time with Edith I prepared, performed, and was professionally judged on a plethora of classical pieces that tested and ultimately improved my fluency, articulation, and overall appreciation for classical music.
While I am currently taking a break from formal lessons, I am spending much of my free time composing original work. Through the knowledge instilled in me from my past instructors I feel I have a solid understanding and interpretation of numerous musical styles.
