This one goes out to that big ball of fire in the sky, that star that keeps us warm and alive all the days of our lives. Yeah, I’m talking to you. Oh sun, how you have made me feel so good when I am cold. You melt away all that dreary winter snow to make way for an emerging spring. You make it pleasant to swim in the summer time. You make life on this place we call earth, possible.

But then again, this piece of writing is not about how good you are to me. This is about how annoying you are when I am driving.

I put my blinker on to turn onto one of the main streets. I look both ways, take the turn and come around the bend. You then proceed to blind me. I close my eyes shortly after instinctively. This is usually followed by me saying something vulgar to myself, about you. I pull my visor down so that I can attempt to block you.

You are annoying.

Do you understand you could kill someone doing that? I come up to a stop light still recovering from your last optical assault, and I can’t see what color it is. Your glaring strength pulsates down on my windshield keeping me cowering behind my visor. Do I go? Is it green? Hesitantly, I come out of hiding from the safety of my shield to quickly glance to see what color the stop light is. However, before I can recognize which color it is and return to the safety of my visor, you blind me again.

Thanks a bunch big guy. Finally the sound of a horn occupies the air, from the car behind me. I take the turn and continue my daily routine. Now I understand that you can’t do anything about this little conflict that I have with you, but then you’ll have to understand this rant.

With lots of love,

~ Guy You Blind While Driving
