Lovepop Cards
Overview
I joined Lovepop in its infancy after the startup appeared on SharkTank, with a vision to disrupt the greeting card industry. We scaled from selling 5-10 cards out of kiosks, to an online inventory of 120+ cards in shops all over the country.
Contribution
As Design Director I recruited, managed, and led the card design team responsible all new card products for the business. Managing a team of talented industrial designers and engineers (both domestic and international), I partnered with Product, Marketing, and executives to define company vision and consistently ship 6-8 new products each month. Key milestones:
Led and scaled a team of 15+ designers responsible for the main revenue channel of the business.
Managed the design roadmap which accounted for $400K+ revenue per year.
Worked with leadership and executives to shape product vision and successfully hit quarterly KPIs.
As our card designs became more artistic, intricate, and personalized the company’s monthly revenue grew from <$10K to $285K+ in peak seasons.
Eventually I transitioned to UX Director to lead the team that capitalized on the company’s strategic vision to augment its physical products with online tech. This created a new revenue channel by enabling customers to add stylized messages to their cards.
