Lovepop Cards

Overview

I joined Lovepop in its infancy after the startup appeared on SharkTank, with a vision to disrupt the greeting card industry. We scaled from selling 5-10 cards out of kiosks, to an online inventory of 120+ cards in shops all over the country.

Contribution

As Design Director I recruited, managed, and led the card design team responsible all new card products for the business. Managing a team of talented industrial designers and engineers (both domestic and international), I partnered with Product, Marketing, and executives to define company vision and consistently ship 6-8 new products each month. Key milestones:

  • Led and scaled a team of 15+ designers responsible for the main revenue channel of the business.

  • Managed the design roadmap which accounted for $400K+ revenue per year.

  • Worked with leadership and executives to shape product vision and successfully hit quarterly KPIs.

As our card designs became more artistic, intricate, and personalized the company’s monthly revenue grew from <$10K to $285K+ in peak seasons.

Eventually I transitioned to UX Director to lead the team that capitalized on the company’s strategic vision to augment its physical products with online tech. This created a new revenue channel by enabling customers to add stylized messages to their cards.
