RoadClub

RoadClub

RoadClub is a consumer app on Android and iPhone that was built from scratch within 4 months to reward people for driving safely. Weekly rewards are measured and evaluated by utilized the phone’s sensors to gauge a user’s distraction, speeding, and hard braking. From these factors weekly score is interpreted and surfaced to the user to show how they can improve.

Our team acted as a startup within our parent company, Cambridge Mobile Telematics, to build and validate that incentivizing drivers via monetary rewards could change their driving behaviors. Through partners, marketing, and rigorous testing we grew the RoadClub userbase from 0 to over 12k daily active users within the first few months. As we refined the business model we began work to offer users more robust historical views for their drives, weekly individual challenges, and AI insights to help them improve.

I worked closely with other product designers, PMs, marketing, data, engineering, and UXR to test and validate features ranging from refining push notification copy to increase CTR to building standalone features such as individual challenges that entailed building user segmentation structures for rewards that smartly adapted to the users evolving driving habits.
