RoadClub

Overview
I worked on the RoadClub team, which acted as a startup within our parent company, [Cambridge Mobile Telematics](https://www.cmtelematics.com/). Our modest team of 12-14 people built an iOS and Android app that incentivized users to drive safely with weekly monetary rewards.
My Contributions
I worked closely with other product designers, PMs, marketing, data, and engineering teams. My contributions included UXR validation of features, delivery of product specs, and product design for standalone features such as individual driving challenges that rewarded users for improving their driving habits.
I chose to design individual challenges based on UXR feedback coupled with product vision. Through user sessions we discovered users wanted to have full autonomy of their weekly performance and wished to receive more robust rewards based on factors in their control.
Over the course of the first four months we built a shipped a mobile app on both iOS and Android. Some key highlights include:
16,000+ user registrations via organic and paid channels
0 to 12k MAU within the first few months of release
Average engagement of 5.5 user sessions per week
Lesson learned: Affecting people's driving habits is difficult. If I could rewind I would hone more on building user motivation via streaks and timely triggers and focus less on individual monetary rewards as a means to improving driving behavior.
